Let's take a minute to look at Kirsten Dunst

I must have saved these an absolute age ago because i can't remember them at all, and upon doing a clear out of my laptop just now i found them!
I have no idea where they're from or who took them, if anyone knows do let me know.

The best gent i ever knew.

And the best Grandad a girl could ever have.

All the leaves are brown

The best thing about autumn/winter are the colours. I'm petrified of anything bright so it pleases me when i walk into stores and see navy, black and burgundy everywhere. I've recently gone a bit mad for oxblood and purchased a jumper, shoes and ANOTHER red lipstick! However my favourite thing in that lovely dark red colour is the above dress. It arrived the other day from the lovely ladies at Madam Rage and i have worn it almost every day. Almost shed a tear when i had to prise it off me for laundry!

I'm a very big fan of a fit and flare type skater dresses and this lace one was perfect for me and i imagine would be very flattering for most body types. Definitely going to be checking out Madam Rage for future shopping splurges.

Fur from H&M, dress by Madam Rage, belt by Moschino, and shoes by Urban Outfitters. (I wish you could see more of the shoes they have little horses heads on! Such a dream.

Also thank you to Hannah Murphy who kindly took my photograph for me! She's such a busy little bee and she spared 10 mins from her huge workload to do this.

Topshop Wishlist - November

Autumn/Winter is definitely my favourite season for clothes. Black, burgundy, navy are in my opinion the best colours. Neons and summer brights literally scare me.
All items above are available at Topshop now. Dying for every piece.

Go Away Romney

So i haven't really been paying too much attention to American politics and the current polls. I love Obama though and really hope he sticks around. However 2 days ago this little video surfaced on the web and i found myself wishing i was American and could vote ASAP!

Featuring the likes of Lesley Gore, Alexa Chung, Tennessee Thomas, Karen Elson, Lena Dunham, Tavi Gevinson. Fashion's favourite ladies. It's such a good video and really makes the public (and me) want to vote Obama.

This is the official text that goes with the video:

"Women constitute more than half of the population. In 2008, 60% of voters were women. It is estimated that 10 million more women than men will vote in this election. Despite this, women make up only 16% of Congress. Women earn only 70 cents to each dollar men make. Women of color and undocumented women make less than white citizens. Mitt Romney and the Republican Party are determined to overturn Roe V. Wade. Romney has not supported equal pay for women (The Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act). Romney has vowed to defund Planned Parenthood. Romney has vowed to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Romney doesn't want health care to cover birth control. Romney says same sex marriage should be banned with a Constitutional Amendment.

Women, let's rise up. Our vote alone can win this election. A vote for Obama is a vote for your health and your right to choose. It is a vote for equal pay and equal rights. A vote for Obama is a vote for our families. It is a vote to marry who you choose. It's a vote to start a family when you choose. A vote for Obama says that we won't stand for violence against women and that rape is rape. Our vote ensures that our daughters will grow up with the same rights that we've had. A vote for Obama sends a message: This war on women must end. We will not go backwards.

This election is shockingly close. Our safety is at stake. Our silence is consent and our vote is our voice. Let's get active. Let's get out every vote we can. Let's make this election a mandate. A mandate to finally ensure women the respect, dignity and equality we all deserve! This is now. This is our call to action. Once and for all, let's take back the power that is so inherently and naturally ours!"

Of the Holy Blood

Jennifer Mehigan is brilliant. The Singapore-based designer, artist and creator of Cavity zine combines fine art sensibility with internet-age experimentation. She bases her influences on the fine line between nature and what is artificial. It is the artificial nature we see so much of in her work. She's creating man-made versions of natural luminance – nacre, opals, bioluminescence to research why it’s so important for us to try and imitate nature without making an identical copy.
I love the way she has pulled from various decades and integrated them into her pieces. Colour on anything aside from my clothes is also my most favourite thing. I'm like a magpie towards bright neons. So good.

Beyond Mountains, More Mountains.

This short confuses me a lot, but yet somehow when it was finished, i found that I loved every minute.
Beautifully shot and presented. Summed up the themes youth, freedom, fun, Italy very well.

'Beyond Mountains, More Mountains' is CANADA's first short film; an epic Italian road-trip, shot over two weeks, traveling from the mountains of Northern Italy, down to the Sicilian Island of Stromboli in the far south of the country.

Kyle Hopkins for Showstudio

Did anybody else watch it?

I'd never even heard of Kyle before but after a quick google i can honestly say his jewellery is beautiful. Weird at times but still so well crafted.  He did a live showstudio stream over the course of a few days covering the theme of death by casting his own face to create a death mask. Half front facing face cast and half skull, Kyle embedded 20+ miniature signature tiny figures all over and inscribed it with the phrase 'Sic transit gloria Mundi' which translates to 'Thus passes the glory of the world'. DEEP.
I think i enjoyed this particular project so much possibly because Kyle and his team were so down to earth. Whilst they worked, they had general chit chat, answered live Q & A's from viewers and giggled about random songs that would come on from their ipod shuffle.
The work itself was very interesting to watch, and great to see how it can come together in such a short space of time. Here are some screen shots i managed to pull towards the end and of the final presentation.

Catch Kyle Hopkins over the next few days exhibiting some of his TO DIE FOR pieces (i've seen them, they're all genius) at Somerset house for London Fashion week 2012.

One of my favourite books

I know i did a post not too long ago about great books being made into films this year but somehow this slipped my radar.
The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky has always been a firm favourite of mine, more so than the other books i've blogged about (On the Road & The Great Gatsby).
I'm not entirely sure how this one is going to go and after watching the trailer i'm 50/50. Possibly because it means a lot more to me how this is interpreted. However it does star eye candy by the name of Ezra Miller (There's something about Kevin) so maybe there's hope after all.
